This Water Repellent Face Mask is made with material that uses 3M’s durable water repellent coating technology. Materials with this coating are also used by Polartec and The North Face. As a mechanical engineer, I designed and made this face mask to provide maximum protection to me, my family, and my friends. The ability of a mask’s outer layer to block out infectious droplets is crucial, something a simple cotton covering would not accomplish. To resolve the hot and unbreathable discomfort from other masks, I used 100% cotton lining with side gathers to allow air flow. To provide a custom fit for better protection from falling droplets through gaps between your face and the mask, a longer and bendable plastic coated wire sewn inside the mask can be shaped to contour your face.

Cleaning : Hand wash with soap and cold water, pat dry, and then hang dry. Low iron to restore the original water repellency. Machine wash might remove the water repellent coating on the fabric. Refer to my masking cleaning video on my website www.chijendesign.com.
